Ahead of the European Mobility Week, the VOICES_EU consortium held a successful transnational project meeting on 10 and 11 September 2026 in Vilnius, Lithuania. Over two intensive working days, partners from across Europe came together to advance the project’s activities, strengthen collaboration, and explore new knowledge in the field of accessibility and inclusion.
The meeting combined focused project work with meaningful learning experiences. Partners engaged in productive discussions and joint planning sessions, particularly on the development of the WP3 Toolkit. This upcoming resource will support people with disabilities and those who represent them by offering practical guidance, inspiration, and confidence to design and lead awareness-raising and advocacy initiatives.
A key highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the project’s first result: a collection of 22 international good practices in advocacy and awareness raising. These examples, gathered from across Europe, will serve as the foundation for the VOICES_EU Toolkit and demonstrate what is possible when individuals and communities take action to promote inclusion.
The consortium also reviewed dissemination activities carried out so far and agreed on plans for future outreach, ensuring that project results continue to reach organisations, communities, and individuals who can benefit from them. Administrative tasks, monitoring responsibilities, and follow‑up actions were aligned to maintain smooth progress throughout the next phases of the project.
In addition to the working sessions, partners took part in an educational visit to the Audiovisual Library in Vilnius. This visit offered valuable insights into accessibility in the physical environment, the use of accessible formats such as EPUB, and innovative approaches to inclusive cultural participation. The programme was enriched by a guided tour through Lithuanian culture, traditions, and historical landmarks, providing a deeper understanding of the local context and strengthening the bonds within the consortium.
We extend our sincere gratitude to LNF for their warm hospitality and to all partners for their dedication, cooperation, and mutual support. The meeting in Vilnius reaffirmed our shared commitment to co-creating accessible tools and amplifying the voices of people with disabilities across Europe.
Follow us, as we will soon begin publishing the good practices collected during this phase of the project.
